Graham Dyer, Chief Executive Officer

Chief Executive Officer

Graham joined Boulcott hospital in December 2024. His career spans both the public and private sectors. He held senior finance, IT, planning and funding, and operational management roles in District Health Boards (DHBs) before spending five years as CEO of Hutt Valley DHB, with three of these years being CEO for both the Wairarapa and Hutt Valley.

From the public health sector Graham moved to lead the health relations functions of ACC, before spending time in consultancy roles including a locum CEO role at Wanganui DHB and various projects for Southern Cross Health Insurance. From contracting for Southern Cross Health Insurance, Graham took on the role of Chief of Value based Healthcare, before returning to Lower Hutt to take up the CEO role at Boulcott.

Graham has an MBA from Massey University, and a Social Science degree from the University of Waikato.

Gareth joined Boulcott Hospital as Chief Financial Officer in 2025, bringing extensive experience in financial leadership, strategy and transformation across various industries. Before joining Boulcott, he held roles such as CFO at Catalyst IT, Head of Finance at Pāmu Farms (Landcorp) and Commercial Manager at Meridian Energy.

Gareth leads the finance team at Boulcott Hospital, overseeing the hospital’s financial strategy, supporting sustainable growth, and ensuring strong financial stewardship. He is passionate about making finance a practical and supportive partner, working closely with clinical and operational teams to support high-quality patient care. He enjoys helping teams make sense of the numbers and using clear insights to guide decisions.

Originally from the UK where he trained as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG, Gareth now lives in Lower Hutt and is enjoying working in a sector that makes a real difference in the community.

With an extensive background in surgical nursing, Carolyn brings 35 years of clinical experience and a passion for fostering collaborative, supportive, and skilled nursing teams.

Carolyn is locally born and bred. After graduating from Wellington Polytechnic, she spent her first two years at Hutt Hospital. The next 5 years were spent living, working, and travelling abroad. On returning to Wellington, Carolyn spent 27 years working in a variety of roles at both Hutt and Wellington Hospitals, which included RN, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Educator, and systems coordinator.

Carolyn joined Boulcott in 2022 and remains passionate about nursing and the delivery of excellent care. She is dedicated to strengthening staff engagement, enhancing workflow efficiency, and supporting evidence-based nursing practice.

Carolyn is committed to creating a positive work environment where nurses feel empowered, valued, and equipped to deliver exceptional care.

Rebecca is a registered nurse with more than 30 years of experience, including 15 years in data analytics supporting nursing and midwifery services across both the public and private sectors. She holds a postgraduate certificate in maxillofacial nursing.

Rebecca’s work focuses on reviewing clinical practice, partnering with leadership teams, and ensuring resources are aligned with fiscal responsibility. She is committed to identifying strengths, guiding change processes, and supporting high-quality patient care.

Paula is an experienced perioperative nurse with over 25 years in healthcare. Originally trained in the UK, Paula has built her career around supporting patients through their perioperative journey. She holds a research Master’s degree in nursing from the University of Auckland, where her thesis focused on preoperative cognitive assessment in older adults – a reflection of her commitment to improving patient outcomes.

Paula’s expertise lies in perioperative care, with a particular interest in preoperative assessment and ensuring patients feel informed and supported before, during and after surgery. Paula is passionate about patient-centred care and research-driven practice.
