Sarah Boyes
Chief Executive Officer
Sarah Boyes was appointed CEO of Boulcott Hospital in December 2016. Sarah has over 20 years’ experience in the health sector in New Zealand. She has held management positions across a wide range of surgical and medical specialties for the last 10 years.
Boulcott is a leader in providing quality care focussing on the unique needs of our patients and families. Sarah is committed to Boulcott’s patients, doctors, team, hospital and local community.

Karen Hall
Peri-operative Nurse Manager
Karen trained at the Hutt Hospital in the late 1970’s where she commenced her career in the Operating Room. Karen further enhanced her skills in this area in London at Charing Cross Hospital with an English National Board 1 year course in Operating Department Nursing. She was then encouraged to attend the Royal College of Nursing – achieving a Certificate in Clinical Nurse Teaching which she applied in the Operating Room and on a surgical floor of 3 wards (Hepatic, Biliary, Breast, General Surgery).
Returning to New Zealand Karen completed a BSc at Victoria University majoring in Physiology. Along with other appropriate certificates in Accounting, Quality Management, Conflict Resolution, this has provided her with the skill to develop a sound, robust team of skilled Operating Room, PACU, SSD and Inventory staff.
Karen’s commitment to perioperative nursing continues to be exhibited by her involvement in National and Local Committees, namely:
- Perioperative Nurses College (PNC);
- Theatre Managers and Educators (TMEC);
- Secretary of Wellington section of PNC;
- Served on Editorial committee of National Journal “The Dissector”;
- Lower North Island Theatre Managers forum (both Public and Private Hospitals)

Delwyn Campbell
Clinical Nurse Manager, Ward and Day Stay Unit
Delwyn joined the team at Boulcott in 2000 as a part time Registered Nurse and has worked in a number of clinical roles. In 2008 Boulcott Hospital underwent a build project and at this time Delwyn was appointed Team Leader for the new Day Unit which she started in March 2008. She then became Team Leader for the Inpatient Ward in 2010
Delwyn is a strong advocate for Infection Control and completed an NZQA qualification in 2002. She has a background of nearly 14 years as a Plastics and Burns Registered Nurse at Hutt Hospital, and she acquired a Bachelor of Nursing Degree through Whitireia while working there. She trained in Nelson graduating in 1983.
Delwyn transitioned into the role as Clinical Nurse Manager in September 2018.

Joy Hyslop
Administration Manager
Joy joined the team at Boulcott in 1999 bringing 15 years experience and knowledge from both the public and private health sector.
At the Wellington Hospital Board, Joy calculated and processed the payroll for all clerical and technical staff employees.
Looking at wanting to support her local community and overcoming her fear of hospitals, Joy joined the staff at Hutt Hospital. Enthusiasm of finding out how a hospital functions in an administrative way, Joy gained experience in most departments including – medical records, ward clerk, typing, finance, outpatients, waiting list.
During a two year secondment to Melbourne, Joy took on the challenge of managing physiotherapy and sports practice.

James Ginnane
Business Manager
James has been a member of the management team at Boulcott since 2009.
He graduated from Victoria University of Wellington in 2002 with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration, majoring in Marketing and Information Systems.
James has previous experience with various IT Consulting roles, and now focuses on the management of IT systems, as well as marketing, promotion and business development.
He is also responsible for the catering department since bringing the team in-house in 2018.
